How to protect yourself from puppy scams

An initial remote selection is normal nowadays. The decisive factor is understanding whether the process is transparent, verifiable, and calmly managed.

Before deciding, one should verify:

• video call with the puppy
• microchip reading during the video call
• notation of passport number and microchip number
• viewing of vaccinations and passport data
• request to see the date of birth and breed description directly on the passport
• request to see how many owners are already listed in the passport
• viewing of the environment where the puppy is located
• viewing of siblings, if present
• observation of the puppy's emotional state
• assessment of the puppy's hygienic and health status: trimmed nails, eyes without tearing or crusts, clean ears, combed and tidy coat, clean anal area without fecal residues
• questions about previous management and upbringing
